So like all good little Queer Activists I was quickly skimming thru GLAAD's "Stories to Watch" section when I cam upon these two items:
1.) Out-of-State Gay and Lesbian Couples Can Marry in Massachusetts
2.) New Studies on Marriage for Gay and Lesbian Couples
GLAAD the preferred wording is 'Same Sex Marriage' and you of all organizations know this! Your blatant disregard for all other queer people except for those who choose to self-identify as Gay Men and Lesbian Women is shocking, painful, amazing, hurtful, bigoted, inaccurate, incorrect and just plain old dumb.
Way to go GLAAD let's disrespect and try to alienate a large portion of your supporters in an election year. What an idea!

So anyway, what EXACTLY do you think you are saying here with your first article? That Massachusetts will only be recognizing same-marriages if the couple self-identifies as gay men or lesbian women? Well I guess someone had better just run right over and inform well-known bisexual activist and author Ron Suresha aka
wolfbear that acording to GLAAD it looks like HIS October 2003 marrige to Dr Rocco Russo in Provincetown Massachusets STILL won't count since he identifes as Bisexual rather than Gay.
And then even when one of the sources YOU spotlight in the second story, the "Fresno Bee" uses the correct term, 'same-sex' marriage in the title and thru-out their article "UCLA's Williams Institute releases new study showing enthusiasm for marriage among same-sex couples", somehow you managed to overlooked this LARGE clue-bomb dropped on your heads and screwed it up and use non-inclusive language anyway.
GLAAD you see nothing wrong in calling on bisexual people and groups to stand up with the rest of the LGBT Community to fight for OUR rights on so many occasions
GLAAD you are happy to take the donations from omnisexual people.
GLAAD you are happy to accept the hard work and volunteer hours of pansexual people.
But GLAAD how it breaks our hearts to see that we are not worthy in your eyes to have OUR marriages acknowledged.

Or maybe you think that people like us don't get married? Or maybe you think that people like us shouldn't get married? Or maybe what you REALLY think is people like us don't actually exist. That we are just a bunch of self-delusional closet-cases who are chronically unfaithful, promiscuous, and a vector for the transmission of venereal diseases,
Is that what this is? Is their some new hierarchy of privilege being created in this country? Marriage will now be reserved for Heterosexual Couples, Gay Couples and Lesbian Couples ONLY. And Bisexual, Pansexual, Omnisexual and all those "other" inconvenient, messy Same Gender Loving peoples should just get with the program.
When we all here are trying to focus our efforts to help our friends in Cali to Stop Prop 8 to have to continually be distracted by this penny-anti non-inclusive stuff when we KNOW that GLAAD of all people knows better . . . well I just have to shake my head and wonder "What are they thinking? Where are their priorities?"
