In her advice column of Friday December 28th 2007 entitled "Oh, the Things You Find Out Online", Margo Howard (daughter of the late Ann Landers) advised a married man who found himself blurting out "I love you" to a male friend that, "You are gay" and some how unaccountably left out the "B" word.
( click here to read the letter & Margo's answer and then PLEASE HELP by sending a note to Margo yourselves reminding her that the man could just as well be Bisexual as Gay )

Action Alert:
The new version of ENDA (Employment Non-Discrimination Act) is bad and does not protect you. See Lambda Legal analysis below. We must contact our Reps. in Congress in the next 7 days to say "We want an inclusive ENDA."
You can easily contact your congressional representatives through The Task Force website http://www.kintera.org/c.nlI2IeN1JyE/b.2
Or your statewide LGBT rights organization website.
Or CALL THE CAPITOL SWITCHBOARD TODAY AND ASK TO BE CONNECTED TO YOUR REPRESENTATIVE:

Dr. Holsinger's nomination is also opposed by Truth Wins Out, Soulforce and a host of gay medical groups. Also he hasn't done well by US Veterans either.
Holsinger’s nomination will go before the US Senate Committee on Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, chaired by Senator Edward M. Kennedy (D-Mass.) Presidential candidates Senator Barack Obama (D-IL), Senator Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) and Senator Christopher Dodd (D-CT) sit on this committee. Please write ALL of them and tell them to STRONGLY oppose his nomination.

Dear Bi/Bi-Inclusive Friends,
I just took action on an issue of real significance to a lot of families, and I hope you'll join me.
Nineteen (19) other countries recognize same-sex couples committed to spending their lives together as 'families' for immigration purposes - and the US, shamefully, does not. That means US citizens and legal residents can't sponsor their same-sex partners from other countries, a basic right other Americans enjoy. ( Read more... )

Once again a self-proclaimed "expert" has pronounced that bi men dont exist. Woody Miller of the Washington Blade is the latest. Quote: "Most people think we fall into three categories: gay, straight or lying. In all probability, your friend is the third of the three."

The extremely un-fabulous Luke Foster, in VUE Weekly, wrote the following in Everything you’ve ever wanted to know about being gay (but were too damned fabulous to ask):
Once again there are great discussions and actual action being taken on this topic all over the web! In particular see
bisexual,
bi_people,
bipolypagangeek,
queerdammit and of course
queer_rage.
My take on bisexuality is quite simple. In my opinion, it doesn’t exist . . . . Bisexuality, to me, is more of a prolonged experimentation period . . . at the end, if you’re in a relationship with one person, aren’t you either just gay or straight?Read the full article for context and then DON'T just complain on LJ, instead take action by actually writing a letter to the author and editors including:
- the un-fabulous & biphobic author Luke Foster (totallygay@vueweekly.com)
- the Managing Editor Chris Boutet (chris@vueweekly.com)
- the Associate Editor Carolyn Nikodym (carolyn@vueweekly.com)

GLAAD, NGLTF, and Freedom to Marry have collaborated on an ad campaign promoting marriage rights for “gay and lesbian” couples entitled “Marriage Matters.” It talks about the discrimination faced by “gays and lesbians” and how they are working to protect “gay and lesbian families.” Many organizations have co-signed the ad but not one bi organization was invited to sign. The Advocate is asking: "Do you think an abbreviation like LGBT or GLBTQ, etc., should replace use of the phrase gay and lesbian?"
. . . and "No" is beating "Yes" by more than three to one, so far.
We need you to change that ratio. Some voters have made viciously anti-bi & anti-trans comments. We urge you to post pro-inclusive comments along with your vote.
You might want to take a look at some of the more 'interesting' comments here: http://www.advocate.com/poll_results_ekt id31847.asp about who various persons think are in this community prior to putting in YOUR vote and comment.
So let YOUR voice be heard too! Please vote in this poll: http://www.advocate.com/poll.asp
